Finite Element Analysis – 1D and 2D Structures

The project aims at development of a software tool for the analysis of one-dimensional structural members such as beams, trusses and frames and 2-D structures using Triangular and Rectangular elements, Torsion, Axis symmetric problems. Finite Element Method, which can be used for analysis of any structural member by Discretisation of Domain, Analyzing and Reassembling, has been the basis of designing the algorithm of this software. The programming language used is C++.

Integrated Building Design for Infosys food court complex at Hyderabad. 

This was a project done under the course naming Integrated Building Design in which the building was to be designed right from the conceptual stage to the commissioning stage using various IT tools such as STAAD.Pro, Msproject, Radiance, Energy plus, AutoCAD, 3-D studio max etc. The building undertaken by our group was Food Court building for the employees of Infosys in Hyderabad. The salient feature of this building was that the main hall was to be designed for the dual purpose i.e. for canteen as well as auditorium. The Building also had various facilities such as shopping center, health center, Gymnasium, Aerobics center, Billiards court etc.

High Vera - Highway Design Database System  

Highway Design Engineers face a lot of problems in the process of design, as they need to access a large amount of data to reach their goals. They have to go through a large number of standards provided by Indian Road Congress. This database system provides a very friendly interface over this large amount of data, where user escapes all the involved design calculations and reading of standard tables, while obtaining an approximate design of the road section. This tool still has a lot of scope of further development, which includes graphical presentation of the designed section, more involved design calculations. The database is developed in MS SQL Server 2000 and front end has been developed in Visual Basic.

Kit for Analysis and Design of Structures (KADS) 

KADS is an integrated software tool used for the analysis and design of various structural components such as rectangular beams, T-beams, slabs, columns and footings etc. The tool is designed keeping the guidelines of IS: 456-2000 into consideration. Work for incorporating the analysis and design of more complicated and composite structural members is presently in progress .The back end of this is developed in C++ and front end in Visual Basic.

A Multi-Client Chat Application (Java) 

This application is like all other popular chat applications like yahoo messenger, msn etc. This small application is developed as a Java programming assignment. Most of the important features of Java like Multithreading, Socket programming and AWT event handling have been used in this application. This is a GUI based application, which keeps track of all the users in a log file. Chat window also shows a list of all the users currently using the application. This is a GUI based application developed in VC++

SFBM-Calculator
The scope of this project includes plotting of the shear force and bending moment diagram and deflected shape for a single span beam having different end conditions (cantilever, simply supported, propped cantilever, fixed) to cater the need of civil, structural, mechanical engineers and architects.
