1.
This project is done as
final semester project with “R&D construction Solution”
department of M/s Vanenburg. The project is presently under
progress. Reliable predictions of cost and duration are
amongst the highest determinants of success of construction
projects. Construction practitioners are aware of uncertainty,
incompleteness and unknown circumstances of factors affecting cost
and duration of construction projects. A wide range of time and cost
forecasting methods has been exploited in the construction industry.
It is found that these techniques do not take into account most of
the significant factors affecting project costs and duration, such
as client characteristics, contractor capabilities, procurement
methods and market conditions. The proposed tool is to help in
predicting the cost and time of completion on the project at any
instance of the time based on the various factors and historic data
of similar kinds of projects. It allows the user to study the cost
and time variation based on changes in the factors.
The tool will also allow the user to visualize the effect on
the cost and duration by choosing various factors contributing to a
particular project. We propose to use Knowledge Development in
Database (KDD) model in the Data Mining to solve this problem. The
database will have data of various previous projects of different
kinds. The proposed tools will extract the knowledge required by
using mining techniques and present the knowledge for prediction

This is a graphical
user interface based tool used for managing the different activities
on the construction sites. This tool is quite useful and handy in
providing the necessary information to the site engineers. This tool
can also be used for the hand held devices in windows environment.
The database is developed in sql server and front end has been
developed in Visual B
3.
This
Distributed database management system has been developed in Java
while backend has been developed in mysql. This system is designed
for a fictitious organization, which is involved in marketing of
numerous projects and has business centers all across the globe. The
whole database is distributed in this case on the contrary to
centralized. Query can be generated from any of the machines
connected through networks and database can lie on number of
machines connected through the network.
4.
This
is an integrated GUI based tool for design and analysis of
some of the most vital components of a building like Beams, Slabs,
Columns. This tool can be proved to be very handy and useful for the
site engineers in verifying the designs on the site itself. This
tool can also be used by the structural analysts and designers in
the office. Significance of the project lies in the fact that there
are many tools available for analysis of structural components but
not many are for design. This tool is an effort for a very portable
design and analysis tool. This is a C++ application and it's GUI in
Visual Basic environment make the tool very simple and handy
5.
This
was a project done under the course naming Integrated Building
Design in which the building was to be designed right from the
conceptual stage to the commissioning stage using various It tools
such as STAAD, Msproject, Radiance, Energy plus, Autocad, 3-D studio
max etc. The building undertaken by our group was Food Court
building for the employees of Infosys in Hyderabad. The salient
feature of this building was that the main hall was to be designed
for the dual purpose i.e. for canteen as well as auditorium. The
Building also had various facilities such as shopping center, health
center, Gymnasium, Aerobics center, Billiards court etc
6.
Overall
project planning and management including resource management system
was developed in MSProject for the various activities involved in
the construction of a commercial building in Hyderabad.
